Student groups may experience the Essential Seattle exhibition
by booking either a self-guided visit which includes focused educational activities
led by your chaperones or a hands-on guided program. All programs are
age appropriate, EALR aligned and support the skills needed to implement the Dig
Deep Classroom Based Assessment for history.
Scholarships are available for low income schools, including funds for transportation

Primary (K-2)
Discovering Seattle Stories
Students are the storytellers using primary sources
to explore Seattle’s past.
Intermediate (3-5)
Cracking the History Code
Students become code breakers by gathering evidence
from primary sources to reveal the stories of the region’s
past.
Middle School (6-8)
History? Fact vs. Fiction
Students must separate historical fact from fiction
by examining primary sources to seek out the truth
about why events happened in Seattle history.
School Museum
In this all-day program, students go behind the scenes
at MOHAI to learn about the work of museum professionals,
and to study exhibits from a new and exciting point
of view. Students then work in teams
to create their own historical exhibits using artifacts
and photographs from the MOHAI collection.s
Self- Guided Visits
Any group can book a self-guided visit any time during
